"Generous palate of dark fleshy fruits upfront with subtle spice and smokiness. Intense full-bodied palate with savoury tannins. Well-balanced acidity with good fruit length balanced with savoury oak tones. The complexity and generosity of this wine will match perfectly with slow roasted meat dishes or full flavoured red meat."

THE ICON STORY
A cachet is a printed or stamped design or inscription, on an envelope or postal card which commemorates a postal or philatelic event. Our Cachet commemorates the last day of Postal services at Chain of Ponds post office on 20 December 1973. Cachet honors the rich history of the Chain of Ponds area. It’s the selection of the absolute best barrels and parcels of fruit that the winemaker skillfully blends to make our top wine.
So how good is our Cachet? 2003 vintage was voted the top Australian red blend in Australia’s leading 2010 wine publication ‘James Halliday’s Australian Wine Companion’ scoring a staggering 96 points.
The 2002 came in a close second with 95 points. Both the 2002 and 2003 vintages also received gold medals at key Australian wine shows.
